In tis section we will show you what can be changed.

[edit | edit source]

For every piece inside MusicReader information like title, composer, genre, ... can be specific.

This information is used to identify the piece, for example in the library.

Cropping
[edit | edit source]

Sheet music has white areas around it which you might want to remove to make notes larger.

Or remove certain parts of music, like specific staff at top and bottom.

This can be done by cropping the music.

This can be done in two ways:

Save zoom as Crop[edit | edit source]

With zooming you can alter the cropping of the piece:

Image 11 - Crop Screen
  1. First pinch-to-zoom on your touchscreen or use the scrollwheel of you mouse. Pinch-to-zoom is touching two fingers on the touch screen, and move them apart to zoom in, or together to zoom out. With scrollwheel of mouse you rotate forward to zoom in and backward to zoom out.
  2. Then you see the screen shown in Image 10. With "Save as Crop" button 1 you can save current zoom as crop. With "Edit Crop" button you can go to screen describe in next section. With "Revert Zoom" 3 you can go back to normal view.
Cropping Screen[edit | edit source]

There is also a screen where the cropping can be detected and set in more detail.

For this screen follow these steps:

  1. Go to "Full Menu" in top menu of MusicReader.
  2. Then in the "Crop" option under "Piece Functions".
  3. Now you see the crop screen as shown in Image 11.
  4. With buttons 1 you can browse through the pages of the piece. With 2 you can autodetect the cropping of the current page and 4 does this for all pages. 3 sets the cropping of current page to the full page, so actually no crop. With handles like 5 and 6 you can manually detemine the crop. Simply drag the handles.

Piece Splitter
[edit | edit source]

Some file are books that consists of several pieces.

These can be splitted in the Piece Splitter functionality of MusicReader into seperate pieces.

Pieces you create here will then be added to the library.

This works as follows:

  1. Open the Piece from the Library.
  2. Then go to "Full Menu" and choose "Piece Splitter" option under "Piece Functions".
  3. Now you see the screen as shown in Image 12.
  4. Now you select the pages of single piece under 1. They will appear in the list 2.
  5. After you have added all associated pages you can set optional settings. These are indicated with 3 and 4. One determines the folder the piece is added to and the other tells to which field the book title is copied. Both are to make it easier to find all pieces contained in this book.
  6. Then press the "Create Piece" button 5.

It's also possible to automate the splitting with so called CSV-files.

For this you press "Predefined Splitting Options" which is indicated with 6 in Image 12.

Then you get the screen shown in Image 13.

Here you can see instructions on how to create CSV file 1 and also a form up select the file 3.

Also there is a list of predefined books available 2.

These contain some common books you can use.
